PORT JEFFERSON, NY – Michael Dayan, MD, has joined the Mather Hospital medical staff specializing in interventional radiology. Dr. Dayan performs a wide variety of interventional procedures including the treatment of liver cancers, deep vein thrombosis, internal hemorrhoids, enlarged prostates, uterine fibroids and spine fractures. These procedures rely on “real-time” advanced medical imaging to precisely target areas of the body for treatment through millimeter-size incisions.
Dr. Dayan also is a core faculty member in Mather’s Graduate Medical Education Radiology Residency Program and an assistant clinical professor in radiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
After earning a medical degree from the accelerated BA-MD program at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH, Dr. Dayan completed an internship in general surgery and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. He then completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City before joining the staff at Mather Hospital.
Dr. Dayan also holds an MBA in Technology Commercialization with interest in health care operations and analytics. His clinical expertise includes all aspects of diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology and interventional oncology. His research interests focus on quality assurance, the Lean Six Sigma method to improve performance by systematically removing waste and reducing variation, medical finance and device development.
Dr. Dayan resides in Roslyn.
