Michael Burghardt has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Administration at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, President Kenneth Roberts announced.
In his new position, Burghardt will oversee Imaging Services, the CyberKnife Center, the Fortunato Breast Health Center, EKG/ EEG, the Prostate Health Center, Materials Management, Bio-Medical Engineering and the Mailroom.
Burghardt joined Mather in April 2009 as Administrative Director of Imaging Services.
Prior to that he was Associate Administrative Director of Radiology Imaging Services at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center and, earlier, Manager of Radiology at South Nassau Communities Hospital. He also is an adjunct instructor at Briarcliffe College, teaching bachelor’s level courses in the Health Administration Program.
He is certified as a Radiologic Technologist and MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and is a member of the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). He recently joined the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), working to become board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow (FACHE).
Burghardt earned a BS in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s College, Brooklyn, and an MBA in Finance from St. John’s University, Queens.
A native of Queens, he lives in Manorville with his wife, Silvana, and three children.
