A nine-week series of classes at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital is designed to help those with diabetes better manage and live with their condition. The classes, which meet Tuesday afternoons, will include:
• What is Diabetes?
• Physical Activity & Exercise
• Monitoring and Goal-Setting
• Oral & Injectable Medications
• Healthy Eating
• Hypo and Hyperglycemia
• Long-term Complications
• Healthy Coping
The classes will be taught by diabetes educator Margaret J. Hofacker BSN, RN, CDE and are presented by Harbor View Medical Services.
