Welcome to the
Internal Medicine Residency Program at
Zucker School of Medicine/Northwell Health at Mather Hospital
Mather Hospital invites you to learn more about its Internal Medicine Residency Program, sponsored by the Zucker School of Medicine/Northwell Health.
Founded in 1929 as the first general hospital in the Town of Brookhaven, Mather Hospital has consistently fulfilled its original patient care mission of providing a wide spectrum of healthcare services of the highest quality to the residents of Suffolk County, and has repeatedly ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Hospitals list as among the best in both New York State and the New York metro area.
Located approximately 60 miles east of New York City, Port Jefferson is within driving distance of vineyards, beaches, restaurants, sporting venues, outlets and more and is a short ferry ride away from the southern coast of Connecticut with access to Boston, scenic New England and the ski slopes of Vermont and New Hampshire. We are also within walking distance of the Long Island Railroad, for a convenient trip into Manhattan.
As we continue to mature from an award-winning community hospital to a community teaching hospital, Mather Hospital is committed to providing you with a structured internal medicine educational experience, as well as a fantastic life experience.
