Welcome to the Mather Hospital
Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program
We provide a three-year training program culminating in preparation for board certification in hematology and oncology. Our program is focused on training oncologists and hematologists that can offer state of the art care in the future communities in which they will practice. Trainees will have access to the vast resources of Mather Hospital and the Northwell Health System as well as our training partner New York Cancer and Blood Specialists. The fellows will serve as consultants on the wards of Mather Hospital and be supervised by a core faculty who will also provide most of the didactics. Much of the training will take place in the extensive array of Long Island outpatient offices of New York Cancer and Blood Specialists including seven day a week infusion centers, comprehensive core laboratory services including pathology and access to genomic testing, outpatient community based radiation oncology including stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy, palliative care, nutrition and rehabilitation services. The fellows will also participate in our clinical trials program including Phase I trials, which are unique in the community setting. More intensive training in Acute Leukemias, Stem Cell Transplantation, and CAR-T Cell therapies will be provided by rotations in Northwell Hospitals in Nassau County.
