PORT JEFFERSON, NY ― Mather Hospital has established an emergency fund to help support hospital staff and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our healthcare team at Mather has come together as one to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and community. I would like to say we have overcome the worst of it, but we all know that’s not true,” said Kenneth Roberts, president. “As with past challenges that have affected our Mather family, we will get through this together.”
The hospital has received numerous generous donations of food and medical supplies, but what is needed most are direct monetary donations. A gift to Mather’s COVID-19 Emergency Fund will help the hospital in small and large ways including funding patient activity packs to occupy their time while visiting hours are suspended; thank you care packages to departments and patient care units on the frontlines; iPads that will connect patients with their loved ones; and medical equipment and personal protective equipment for staff members, keeping them safe on the front lines.
Donations can be made at www.matherhospital.org/emergencyfund or mailed to the JTM Foundation, Mather Hospital, 75 North Country Road, Port Jefferson, NY 11777.
