Schedule your mammogram today.
The American Cancer Society reports that the chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer in her life is about one in eight. That is why increased awareness, education and early detection are important parts of breast healthcare.
A mammogram can reveal a tumor as much as two years before you or your healthcare professional can feel it. That’s why it’s important to schedule your mammogram. Following the American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines, the Fortunato Breast Health Center recommends that you get annual mammography screening starting at age 40. In some higher risk situations, earlier screening or additional testing may be recommended.
If you are uninsured or underinsured, you may be eligible for no cost or discounted screenings through the Fortunato Breast Health Center’s Fund for Uninsured.
