Weight Loss Without Surgery – The Intragastric Balloon
Revolutionary weight loss without surgery – no incisions, no stitches, with the non-surgical placement of the FDA approved intragastric balloon.
Your Procedure
According to Arif Ahmad, MD, Director of the Mather Hospital Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery™ (COEMBS™), the procedure involves the insertion of a durable silicone balloon through your mouth directly into your stomach, during a quick, easy, non-invasive procedure. The balloon is expanded to the size of a grapefruit, allowing you to feel full and stay full longer with a smaller amount of food. The technology and the design of the balloon coupled with a supervised diet and exercise program helps achieve maximum results.
After the Insertion of the Intragastric Balloon
After six months, the balloon is removed in the same manner it was placed. The aftercare supervised program continues for an additional six months. You are provided with one complete year of support, education and behavior modification to ensure sustained success.
Dr. Ahmad, Medical Director of the Center of Excellence for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery™ is performing this new procedure at Mather Hospital.
Your Risks
Potential risks associated with the device include but are not limited to: nausea, vomiting, gastroesophageal reflux, abdominal pain, bloating, belching, dysphagia and dehydration.
