Sleeve Gastrectomy
Sleeve Gastrectomy surgery is used to help obese and severely obese patients lose weight by reducing the stomach to approximately 15 percent of its original size. The procedure involves stapling the stomach into a long tube to accommodate a greatly reduced amount of food.
Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y)
Gastric Bypass surgery is used to help obese and severely obese patients permanently lose significant amounts of weight. The procedure greatly reduces the size of the stomach, thereby lessening food intake and changing the way food is digested so that fewer calories are absorbed.
Gastric Banding
Gastric Banding is a surgical procedure used to help obese and severely obese patients lose weight by making you feel full faster, so you eat less and lose weight. The procedure involves placing an adjustable silicone band around the upper portion of your stomach to create a small pouch.
Revisional Bariatric Surgery
Revisional Bariatric Surgery may be an option for patients who have not achieved their desired results from a previous weight loss surgery.

Risks of Surgery
As with any surgery, bariatric surgery presents some risk. You should consult with your surgeon about the risks for the procedure you are considering.
All abdominal surgeries, including bariatric surgery, carry the potential risk of blood clots, bleeding, infection or damage to adjacent organs.
Poor compliance with the post-surgical program prescribed by your surgeon and the COEMBS team can result in inadequate weight loss or weight regain with any bariatric procedure.
Rapid weight loss increases the incidence of gallstone formation in some patients.
Mortality of bariatric surgery is less than 0.2% in a COEMBS.
