Mohammad Bilal, MD, Named to Mather Board of Directors

Mohammad A. Bilal, MD, Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, has been named to the Hospital’s Board of Directors.

Bilal has been Director of Vascular and Interventional Radiology since 2011 and has been on Mather’s medical staff since 2004. He is the senior Interventional Radiologist within the Imaging Services Department.

Upon earning his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Boston University, Dr. Bilal completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. He concluded his training with a Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 2004.

Dr. Bilal is certified by the American Board of Diagnostic Radiology. He is a member of the American Board of Radiology, Radiologic Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology, and American Roentgen Ray Society.

Interventional Radiology is a subspecialty of Radiology that specializes in performing minimally invasive procedures using various imaging modalities such as X-ray, ultrasound and CT scan guidance. Bilal also heads Mather Interventional Radiology Associates (MIRA), an outpatient-based practice located at the Hospital providing longitudinal comprehensive clinical care. Dr. Bilal specializes in all aspects of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with particular expertise in visceral vascular disease, Oncologic Interventions, Women’s Health, and Spine Interventions.

He is a member of the Cancer Committee and the Back & Neck Pain Center at Mather Hospital. He also is a medical staff member at St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, Stony Brook University Hospital and Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He also has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at Stony Brook University since 2011 and is core faculty for the Radiology Residency program at Mather.

Dr. Bilal and his family live in Dix Hills.
